The clockwork mouse went squeak!

If he had been alone it would have been a novelty but they functioned in units of a thousand. The squeak was a signal and positioned as they were around the auditorium, their simultaneous release of the nerve agent caused the almost instantaneous death of everyone enjoying the performance.

Everyone that is except for the target. He had been aware of the mice as soon as they approached the buiding and had left, in a hurry. He knew the way the mice worked. Even if he could have blocked his passages to his lungs, the toxins the mice used would eat through the pores of the skin, absorption through every gateway…
